Decks &Outdoor LivingBuilt for Summer.

Decks and outdoor living built on solid footings and framing — designed for the Maine summer and engineered to survive the winter. Kennebunk & Southern Maine.

The Overview

Where Summer Happens

Maine summers are short, so the outdoor space has to earn it. A deck built right — footings below the frost line, solid framing, quality decking — gives you decades; one that’s rushed rots and wobbles in a few seasons. Black Apex Development builds decks and outdoor living from the footings up.

Good Questions

Decks FAQ

Composite or wood — which is better?
Composite costs more up front but barely needs maintenance and lasts longer; wood is cheaper and classic but needs staining. We’ll walk you through it for your budget.
Do you pull permits?
Yes. As a licensed contractor we pull and manage the permits your town requires, and build to code.
Will the deck survive frost heave?
Footings dug below the frost line are what prevent heaving. That’s foundational — we don’t shortcut footing depth.
Can you repair or extend an existing deck?
Yes — repairs, board replacement, railing upgrades, and extensions, as well as new builds.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Kennebunk and work throughout Southern Maine — Kennebunkport, Wells, Biddeford, Saco, Arundel, and Portland. Not sure if you’re in range? Give us a call.
