The Overview

A Roof That Earns Its Keep

Your roof takes the worst Maine throws at it — ice, snow load, nor’easters, coastal wind. A roof installed right is one you never think about; one that’s rushed shows up as leaks and ice dams. Black Apex Development does tear-offs, full replacements, and repairs, with the flashing and ventilation detailing that actually keeps water out.

One crew, clear scope, clear price. We protect your property during the tear-off, clean up every nail, and stand behind the work — materials and labor.

Good Questions

Roofing FAQ

How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes are a one-to-three-day job depending on size, pitch, and weather. We schedule around the forecast.
Asphalt or metal — which is better in Maine?
Both work well here. Asphalt is cost-effective and proven; metal sheds snow and lasts longer. We’ll walk you through the trade-offs for your home.
Do you handle storm and wind damage?
Yes — repairs and full replacements, and we can document damage to support an insurance claim.
Will you replace bad decking?
If we find rot or soft decking during tear-off, we replace it before the new roof goes on — flagged and priced before we do the work.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Kennebunk and work throughout Southern Maine — Kennebunkport, Wells, Biddeford, Saco, Arundel, and Portland. Not sure if you’re in range? Give us a call.
